Do you need your fingers? Do you enjoy not having a chunk of wood kicking back and socking you in the stomach? Do dangerous fast moving machines scare you?
If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, then you need a GRR-Ripper.
This thing excels at keeping you safe when making rip cuts on the table saw. Almost all woodworkers start by making cutting boards. Those typically require making numerous rip cuts in order to produce various strips to glue up. Selling one cutting board should more than pay for one of these.
If you have a SawStop or one of the newer Laguna table saws with the overarm dust collectors, you can't use the GRR-Ripper for obvious reasons. The GRR-Ripper requires you to be able to push completely through the cut and the overarm collector hinders that ability. In other words, is it more important to you to keep your fingers safe or is it more important to have slightly less dust on your table saw? Yea, I thought so.
It's $59 and occasionally goes on sale for about $45. It's the single best thing you could purchase to make woodworking safer. Is it expensive? No, because you're going to use it for virtually your entire woodworking career on the vast majority of cuts you make. Did you accidentally cut through it? They sell pretty much every part that makes the GRR-Ripper online. Seriously, if you don't buy any other safety equipment, buy this one. I even picked a second one up for $20 on Facebook Marketplace just so I could have a dedicated one with a 1/8" wide leg.
TL;DR - Buy this.
